There is nothing that touches these UGG Tall boots sale for just lazing around at home. Bar sleeping I dont take mine off now that its getting colder, they are not quite as stiff as they were when they first arrived but still extremely comfortable. It would be nice if they had a little more arch support but other than that Im very pleased.

It's not that I'm offended. Blow the kids up with cute teddies and take the muslim and jews and what-not with you for all I care. It just wasn't humorous.

@Helene and others, AFAIK the Swedes do indeed have an Ø. It's just "spelled" Ö. So it should be "Bööm"... or, if the bobm is intended for Swedes, you don't need the explosives, just make a speaker say "Bööm!"... :P

I do not think it was to kill children in the first place...

I can't say that it is funny, more disturbing. Still very effective satire, and much more serious than the "normal" WM cartoon (if normal is the word to use).

The scary thing is that these thing do excist (not from IKEA obviously), but still, some humans must have been thinking exactly these thoughts: how to put explosives in a teddybear, so you can kill children.

The Swedish word for Boom is Bang, but we kindof use the English word Boom aswell so I guess its alright.
"Knep" means Trick in Swedish.

Btw. Great comic!

helene from Netherlands
August 15, 2007

no it shouldn't be bøøm, seeing as IKEA is swedish and the swedish language doesn't have an ø ...

apart from that; ofcourse there should be made fun of the concept. don't make fun of the horrible effects, make fun of the people who invented it and the fear itself.

Mads G from Denmark
August 15, 2007

@ Emma:

No, IKEA is Swedish, and only Danish and Norwegian have the letter 'ø'.
The names of IKEA products are all Swedish words (I think they take them at random from the dictionary).
So it shouldn't be 'Bøøm', but perhaps actually 'Bum'. (Correct me if I'm wrong, Swedes.)

Incidentally, IKEA used to have a storage box named 'Knep'. That is the Danish word for 'Fuck' (in the imperative).

Johan from Sweden
August 15, 2007

I thought it was fun. I don't think IKEA would mind, they've clearly got the sense of humour and selfdistance to just don't give a damn..

hahaaa from Ethiopia
August 15, 2007

so-so

Cpt from Netherlands
August 15, 2007

This has multiple levels:
1. The obvious level. As some have already reacted this should not be funny. You don't make fun of deaths, bombs, and basically what is happening in the (until recently far) east. What is happening there is bad, however that situation was induced by (formerly developed) countries with leaders who aren't even capable of tying their own shoes without consulting some overpaid git and whose idea of a state banquet is a hotdog and hamburger with fries (no, I won't mention any names).

2. The somewhat deeper level. As mentioned by other posters; one way of dealing with situations is making fun of it.

3. This is an outcry against the modern empty society in which consumerism has taken on almost religious proportions.

4. In the light of recent revelations by Mattel et. al. about deadly toys it is even more funnier.

Caroline from United States
August 15, 2007

Rakanichu from Denmark
August 15, 2007

There is nothing I don't like about this strip - it's fantastic ^^

And sure you can joke about terror. That's the best way to kill the terrorising effect of terror - which makes terror pointless.

Good job guys!

Paquito from Spain
August 15, 2007

Hey! IKEA Spain doesn't sell that Teddy bear! Why? :-)))))

I think this "Item" would be a best-seller during X-MAS (Bosses, mothers-in-law, that guy who's always pissing-you off @ Work)... Sooooo nice :-)))

Regards from Spain,

Paquito.

@Retarderet
That was really nice from you to translate his comment, and yes, I totally agree with you. And anyway, this picture not said anything about terror. That simply made for fun in a comic strip, and not for a morbid prank about terrorism.

I've just bought two ikea stores for my bathroom window, but now that i've begun to fix it, i think i'm gonna by that BOOM-bear and offer it to the Paris-Nord-2-IKEA-Manager's Kids

Maurice from Netherlands
August 15, 2007

In one word: Wow! This picture tells the whole story. The emptyness of Ikea, the shallow way of looking at the most beautifull thing there is in this world: life.

Soeren> Det er ikke terror, men "krig mod terror" ;-)

Retarderet from Denmark
August 15, 2007

I can't imagine this as a threat, I always get lost in those IKEA manuals.

Post scriptum. It's great.

@ Soeren
Translation: "That's a do over, you don't make fun of terror"
Sure you make fun of terror, according to Freud that is the way intelligent people handle their worries that's if terror makes you worry, you're in Denmark, there's (according to me) nothing to worry about.

Anders Morgenthaler & Mikael Wulff

Well,

we're two humans who call ourselves Mikael Wulff and Anders Morgenthaler - and yes we both own a computer - wow!?

We

don't have real jobs - like a lawyer, account, or fisher - and we know very little about stock trading. But people tell us that we're excellent at boiling eggs.

We

love movies about lawyers evicting turtles from their homes - we hope for a big TV series. We enjoy music made by lawyers. We don't like technology - especially the Ipod, Itunes and Iphone from Mac since we prefer less selfish products like the Youpod.

We

also think that playstations and video games, mobile phones and DVDs, computers and autos and plane travel are overrated and useless compared to prune juice - it's more healthy and it helps you digest.

We

rarely go outside and are a little uneasy with the whole concept of hotels and travel. Why would you want to travel when you can just go Spain and relax?

Besides

that we kind of enjoy life; we have a huge mortgage to pay and have no insurance - we're just being optimistic. We love our TV and follow our mortgage rate constantly on the teletext. We think it would be a good idea for MTV to create a new channel just called MTV Mortgage which would only be about tips and tricks from real estate agents.
